COMMON LANGUAGE OF EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION
The Common Language of Instruction is a district-wide set of shared goals for effective, high quality, instructional strategies and practices that we aspire to reach. Our 'common language' is used to create a baseline for new teachers entering our district while providing current faculty with a purposeful methodology to structure learning environments for all students.
It is important to note that our 'common language' is not intended for "benchmarking" and instead provides a coherent set of ideas that can be used to form, discuss and highlight impactful teaching and learning. It serves as the core of CUHSD "Learning Walks".

LEARNING WALKS
CUHSD Learning Walks provide teachers with a self-reflective professional development opportunity to observe their colleagues in action and learn about all the dynamic instructional practices and strategies already in place across our district. Learning Walks are positive, supportive, non-evaluative experiences that encourage professional and personal growth.
